The Power of the Cloud in Business

The Power of the Cloud in Business

Key takeways

The growing amount of data available in organisations is driving the adoption of the Cloud

Potential for automating processes and easy, secure access to information

Cloud adoption, whether through options such as multicloud or hybrid cloud, is essential to ensure business competitiveness

It’s no longer news that the growth in the amount of data available in organisations has been exponential. We produce increasingly more data that flows everywhere in the most varied forms.

However, this data is only impactful in business strategy when correctly stored so that, when analysed and transformed into insights, it represents more intelligence, competitiveness and optimisation for the organisation.

If 2022 were the year of the Cloud, the trend would continue into next year, with organisations realising the countless benefits of adopting the Cloud by storing their data on secure platforms that allow companies to gain agility, scalability and speed in accessing information.

It is a relatively simple way of responding to growth and fulfilling the organisation’s needs, whether for quick access to information or for automating processes.

The most significant advantage of this technology is that any organisation can implement it without significant investment. With the Cloud, with only internet access, employees have easy, secure and fast access to information, which facilitates the daily life of companies.

Accessing critical information from any device, anywhere, makes the managers’ daily lives easier. Employees working remotely or travelling through the Cloud can access the same information.

According to Gartner, global spending on public Cloud products is growing at an annual rate of 20.4% and is expected to reach $600 billion by 2023.

There are several options for Cloud usage, so each company should analyse its needs to choose the most advantageous option that effectively meets its objectives. The multi-cloud is a growing concept that uses two or more Cloud computing structures, which may come from different suppliers. Its main advantages are the increase in computing capacity and security.

Adopting the Hybrid Cloud, which allows the use of a private Cloud and a public Cloud to be combined, is also a trend. Flexibility, scalability and saving are some of the main benefits of this option.

According to IDC, globally, by 2023, all IT automation initiatives will be supported by an expanding Cloud ecosystem for increased resource control and real-time analytics.

It is certain that a Cloud system brings countless benefits and is today an indispensable technology for any company that wants to guarantee its competitiveness. Being able to control and manage information in real-time is a competitive advantage nowadays when companies are required to respond quickly. This powerful tool improves business management, creates more agile routines and makes workflows more efficient.

However, we must remember that switching to the Cloud involves processes and people, so it is crucial to plan, organise and inform to obtain the multiple benefits of this technology.
