BI4ALL and Geek Girls Portugal promote ‘Inspiring the Future: LeadHERship for Change’ event to debate the role of women in today’s society

Lisbon, November 7th, 2024 – BI4ALL, a leading company in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence services, will host the event ‘Inspiring the Future: LeadHERship for Change’ on 20 November in partnership with Geek Girls Portugal through its internal team – the DEI Group (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).

In this gathering of inspiring talks, panel discussions and a practical workshop, the role of women in today’s society and the challenges and opportunities they face in rising to leadership are assessed, projecting a fairer and more inclusive future in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

With an exciting agenda, the event aims to address the role of women in society, promote gender diversity, inspire women to take on leadership roles and create a space for networking and learning. To this end, it will feature speakers from various fields, such as Mariana Cunha, Retail Industry Advisor at Microsoft and a member of the PWN Lisbon board, and Joana Correia, Software Developer at Volkswagen Digital Solutions, among others, who will share their experiences and views on how women can drive significant change in their areas of activity and in the organisations they are part of.

Also noteworthy is the ‘#IAmRemarkable’ workshop, facilitated by Patrícia Duarte Mateus, Solution Architect at TestRail, founder of the A QA Portuguesa project and ambassador for the Geek Girls Portugal community, which will be an opportunity to explore and understand the impact of self-promotion on personal and professional lives. Many people feel uncomfortable sharing their achievements due to imposter syndrome, stereotypes and cultural influences. Over 90 minutes, #IAmRemarkable encourages each participant to celebrate their achievements based on stories and research about the transformative power of self-promotion.

For Inês Xavier, BI4ALL’s Chief Financial and People Officer, this initiative is part of the company’s wider strategy to promote an organisational culture based on diversity and inclusion: “At BI4ALL, we believe that diversity is a source of innovation and growth. With our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programme, we are committed to ensuring an environment where everyone feels safe and respected. Promoting inclusion in the workplace is not only the responsibility of all managers but also a fundamental pillar for organisations to face the challenges of the future, which are increasingly related to each person’s individuality.”

Patrícia Duarte Mateus, from Geek Girls Portugal, emphasises that ‘As an ambassador for Geek Girls in Lisbon, it is with great enthusiasm that we join BI4ALL in this initiative that values the role of women in the world of technology. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to promoting an inclusive and motivating environment for women who work or aspire to work in this sector. Together, we want to inspire and support more women to enter and thrive in the world of technology, showing that talent and innovation are stronger when they bring together the diversity and potential of each individual.”

This initiative will take place at BI4ALL’s headquarters (Cidade BI4ALL) in Lisbon, starting at 2:30 pm and lasting until 9pm, with the last hour dedicated to networking. Registration is free but limited and can be done until 14 November via this link. For more information on BI4ALL’s sustainability strategy, click here.
